Happy 2020 New Year from Disney World

What a way to start the 2020 New Year....at the happiest place in the World.
Tom & I traveled to Florida to visit Joyce & Dawn for a few days, and then on New Year's day we surprised Alina - who had flown in from Colorado.  We then spent a couple of days at Disney World as we began the "year-long celebration" of my 70th birthday!
They made me wear the birthday pin (pictured above) at Disney World - which resulted in MANY birthday wishes from cast members and strangers...and, I even got "serenaded" by the crowd at one of the Disney parades. 
This will be a very special birthday year!
Can't wait for the next stop on this adventure.

Monday, February 10, 2020 Just in case you want to "join us" on the Shotover Jet boat ride - check out the video. Tom & I were in the 3rd row from the front of the boat....you can see the back of Tom's head (white hair) and my head in several shots, and then us from the front of the boat. It was really quite exciting - very thrilling & fun. The only thing that worried me was being afraid my glasses might fly off.....so, half-way through the ride I took my glasses off - no problem after that.....just great fun. I would definitely do it again. We are off to a paddle-boat ride this morning - quite a difference from the Shotover Jet boat ride yesterday!

 Thursday, February 13, 2020         Franz Josef Glacier or, as its known in local Māori legends, Kā Roimata ō Hine Hukatere (the frozen tears of Hine Hukatere) is a 12 kilometer (7.5 mile) long temperate maritime glacier located on the West Coast of New Zealand's South Island.      From its origins high in the Southern Alps, the Franz Josef Glacier descends into the lush native rainforest of Westland's National Park. This descent occurs from a height of 3,000 meters (9,842 feet) above sea level to 240 meters (787 feet) over a distance of 11 kilometers (6.8 miles), making it one of the steepest glaciers in the country.      The river emerging from the glacier terminal of Franz Josef is known as the Waiho River.
