Maui, Hawaii

Sunday, February 17, 2020      A beautiful day in Maui....temps in the 80's with a cooling breeze....occasionally a few light sprinkles of rain which resulted in some lovely rainbows.      We enjoyed laying out - in the shade mostly.  Tom was careful not to get too much sun - thanks to Terri & Bob for the hat to protect him.      The views of the ocean and the West Maui mountains, along with the grounds of the Ka'anapoli Beach Hotel are awesome....views one never grows tired of seeing - even after our many trips to Maui.                  Dinner at the Tiki Terrace at the Ka'anapoli Beach Hotel with the live Hula Show while we dined.      We are SO happy to be back, that we decided to extend our stay in Maui - from 3/3 to 3/12 - returning to Champaign on 3/13!!!!       We heard it is ...

A day in "Paradise"

Aloha from Honolulu. Tom was out walking early this morning – as per his usual routine, so you can see Waikiki beach when it is not crowded, which is very unusual. While I leisurely got ready for a day in “paradise”, I checked out the weather forecast in Champaign, and it looks like some wintry weather is headed that way…..looks like we left at the right time – including Chicago/O’Hare which might have some travel delays today and tomorrow. Let’s hope the rest of our journey goes as well as it has so far. Our very long flight begins early tomorrow morning - Saturday, 1/18 - leaving Honolulu at 9:25 a.m. and arriving in Sydney, Australia (via a short stop in Auckland, New Zealand) at 9:35 p.m. on Sunday, 1/19.  Hope our "jet lag" isn't too bad....we will keep you posted from "down under".
